Component preservation
Precision Down to the Part
Not every project requires an entire vehicle, aircraft, or machine.
Subzero Surface Solutions provides precision cleaning and surface restoration for individual components, mechanical assemblies, and specialty parts where material integrity, cleanliness, and finish matter.
From aircraft and automotive components to motorsport hardware, castings, mechanical assemblies, and specialty equipment, each project begins with the component itself. We evaluate the material, contamination, condition, and desired outcome before determining the appropriate approach.
Currently specializing in precision dry ice blasting, Subzero provides a controlled, non-abrasive solution for qualifying components where conventional cleaning methods may be inefficient, ineffective, or introduce unnecessary risk.
THE COMPONENT COMES FIRST
Different materials require different considerations.
Aluminum, steel, composites, painted surfaces, plated hardware, castings, and other materials can respond differently depending on their condition and the contamination being removed.
That is why Subzero does not approach component restoration with a one-size-fits-all mentality.
The objective is simple:
Understand the component. Understand the contamination. Preserve what matters.
Mechanical Components
Precision cleaning for housings, brackets, assemblies, hardware, and mechanical components where accumulated contamination interferes with inspection, restoration, or presentation.
Aerospace & Aviation Components
Controlled cleaning for qualifying aircraft and aerospace components where material integrity, complex geometry, and cleanliness require careful consideration.
Automotive & Collector Components
Restoration-focused cleaning for engine components, suspension hardware, brake components, castings, brackets, and specialty parts from luxury, exotic, classic, and collector automobiles.
Motorsport Components
Cleaning and preparation for race components during teardown, inspection, maintenance, fabrication, and rebuild operations.
Contamination Removal
Target grease, oil, carbon, adhesives, residue, and other unwanted material from intricate surfaces and difficult-to-access areas.
Restoration & Preparation
Provide a cleaner foundation for inspection, preservation, refinishing, repair, assembly, or the next stage of a restoration process.
MORE THAN CLEANING
Component restoration is often about revealing what is underneath.
Years of contamination can conceal casting details, hardware, surface condition, markings, defects, and original finishes.
Removing that contamination can provide technicians, restorers, and owners with a clearer understanding of the component before deciding what comes next.
The goal is not always to make an old component look new.
Sometimes the right result is preserving exactly what remains.
THE SUBZERO APPROACH
Subzero is built around the principle that the surface determines the process.
Our primary technology today is dry ice blasting, but our approach to component restoration begins with the desired result rather than the equipment.
We evaluate the substrate, contamination, condition, geometry, and surrounding materials before determining whether our current capabilities are appropriate for the application.
For unfamiliar or sensitive components, testing can be performed on a representative area or sample before proceeding with a larger scope.
As Subzero's capabilities evolve, this philosophy will remain the same:
Use the right process for the surface in front of us.
LOCAL OR SEND IT TO SUBZERO
Not every component requires mobile service.
Qualifying parts and assemblies can be evaluated for off-site restoration, allowing customers, shops, maintenance organizations, and restoration facilities to bring or ship individual components directly to Subzero.
Send us information about the component, material, contamination, current condition, and desired result. Photos can often help us determine whether the project is a good candidate before the component is received.
From a single irreplaceable casting to a collection of components from a larger restoration, each project is evaluated individually.
PRECISION AT EVERY SCALE
The same philosophy applied to an aircraft, collector automobile, or competition vehicle should extend all the way down to the individual components that make it possible.
Subzero Surface Solutions provides a preservation-focused approach for parts worth restoring and surfaces worth protecting.
Send us the component. Bring us the problem. We'll evaluate the solution.
